چکیده

In this paper, a di erential geometric approach to solv e the problem of fault detection and isolation in nonlinear systems is presented. New conditions giving a solution for fault isolation problem are proposed. These conditions are less restrictive than previous work and are based on the analysis of the solution of the fundamental problem of residual generation given by De Persis and Isidori. A Geometric Approach to Fault Detection and Isolation of Two-Dimensional (2D) Systems

In this work, we develop a novel fault detection and isolation (FDI) scheme for discrete-time twodimensional (2D) systems that are represented by the Fornasini-Marchesini model II (FMII). This is accomplished by generalizing the geometric approach of one-dimensional (1D) systems to 2D systems. The basic invariant subspaces including unobservable, conditioned invariant and unobservability subspa...

Design of nonlinear parity approach to fault detection and identification based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and unknown input observer in nonlinear systems

In this study, a novel fault detection scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear system in the presence of sensor noise. A nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is implemented to create multiple models. While the T-S fuzzy model is used for only the nonlinear distribution matrix of the fault and measurement signals, a larger category of nonlinear systems is considered. Next, a mapping to decou...

Finite time stabilization of time-delay nonlinear systems with uncertainty and time-varying delay

In this paper, the problem of finite-time stability and finite-time stabilization for a specific class of dynamical systems with nonlinear functions in the presence time-varying delay and norm-bounded uncertainty terms is investigated. Nonlinear functions are considered to satisfy the Lipchitz conditions. At first, sufficient conditions to guarantee the finite-time stability for time-delay nonl...

A geometric approach to nonlinear fault detection and isolation

We present in this article a differential-geometric approach to the problem of fault detection and isolation for nonlinear systems. A necessary condition for the problem to be solvable is derived in terms of an unobservability distribution, which is computable by means of suitable algorithms. The existence and regularity of such a distribution implies the existence of changes of coordinates in ...

Relaxed fault detection and isolation: An application to a nonlinear case study

Given a number of possibly concurrent faults (and disturbances) that may affect a nonlinear dynamic system, it may not be possible to solve the standard fault detection and isolation (FDI) problem, i.e., to detect and isolate each single fault from all other, possibly concurrent faults and disturbances, due to the violation of the available necessary conditions of geometric nature. Motivated by...
